The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is Nevada’s largest public higher education institution, serving more than 36,000 students across 6 schools, 22 departments, and 70+ programs. The CSN.edu web transformation redefined how the institution delivers digital services, advancing accessibility, design system alignment, and governance standards while establishing a scalable foundation for student engagement and organizational growth.
Role & Scope
Managed the Web Services team and directed the enterprise web transformation, overseeing UX, governance, and technical delivery. Collaborated with IT, marketing, senior leadership, faculty, and staff to define strategy, establish workflows, and guide implementation across 6 schools, 22 departments, and 70+ programs.
Challenge
CSN’s website had not been modernized in eight years, operating on outdated systems and fragmented governance. The institution needed a complete rebuild to align design, content, and infrastructure with the expectations of modern students, parents, and faculty, creating a scalable, user-centered, and compliant digital experience.
Resolution
Transformed CSN’s legacy web presence into a modern enterprise-level digital platform built on a scalable Drupal framework. Developed governance standards that unified content management, design systems, and institutional data. Partnered with IT, marketing, and leadership to align governance, compliance, and strategy, establishing sustainable digital operations and elevating CSN’s online reputation.
Outcomes / Impact
- Achieved a maintained a 98.7% Siteimprove accessibility compliance score (WCAG 2.2 AA).
- Earned national recognition with IMA Best in Class and W³ Silver Awards for excellence in higher-education web design, user experience, and accessibility.
- Successfully led CSN through a U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights (OCR) accessibility review, demonstrating proactive leadership in ADA compliance, vendor coordination, and accessibility advancement.
- Delivered immediate, measurable advancements in user experience, performance, and governance, empowering more than 36,000 students, 6 schools, 22 departments, and 70+ programs across the institution.
- Architected a scalable digital framework that remains the foundation for UX, accessibility, and governance practices across CSN’s enterprise ecosystem.
