Harrah’s / Caesars Digital Merger

As Caesars Entertainment and Harrah’s Entertainment combined operations, this project involved the full redesign and technical integration of both organizations’ online platforms. My work centered on unifying site architecture, streamlining the reservations and rewards systems, and supporting a seamless transition to a consolidated digital infrastructure.

Role & Scope

As Web Developer / QA Test Lead, I was part of the merger-critical CHIP Squad (Caesars Harrah’s Integration Project), formed to combine the online properties, reservation systems, and marketing infrastructures of two of the world’s largest gaming and hospitality brands. I developed functional templates, wireframes, and supporting UI components for the unified reservations platform, ensuring design consistency and technical reliability across 40 + casino and resort websites. I also led front-end QA, coordinated WatchFire security testing and training, and collaborated with cross-disciplinary teams to maintain uptime, data integrity, and seamless guest access throughout the transition.

Challenge

The merger of Caesars Entertainment and Harrah’s Entertainment presented an unprecedented digital challenge, integrating two enterprise-scale web ecosystems with distinct infrastructures, design standards, and customer databases. The combined company needed a seamless transition that unified branding, content management, and reservation workflows across more than forty casino and resort properties while maintaining uninterrupted operations, marketing continuity, and guest access. Coordinating systems that had evolved separately over decades required careful synchronization of technology, user experience, and governance processes to ensure business stability from day one.

Resolution

Served on the merger-critical CHIP Squad (Caesars Harrah’s Integration Project) during the unification of the Caesars and Harrah’s digital environments. Developed functional templates for the unified reservations systems and created a Flash-based casino locator featuring property details, directions, and links across 40+ sites. Conducted A/B testing to refine interfaces, performed WatchFire security audits, and prepared training materials supporting rollout and compliance across all web properties.

  • Recruited to the merger-critical CHIP Squad (Caesars Harrah’s Integration Project) during the corporate consolidation of two global gaming leaders, recognized for cross-disciplinary expertise in web, graphics, marketing, and application design.
  • Developed the foundational functional templates and casino locator interface used across more than 40 casino and resort websites, advancing usability, visual consistency, and performance for both brands.
  • Contributed to a seamless transition that maintained full booking continuity and avoided downtime during the merger rollout, a critical operational success for customer-facing systems.
